This page details my second Nova....a special edition Antibes.
I bought this as my second Nova in 99, to replace my previous A reg 1.2L
I've included a new page showing some of my Restoration Photos, including the rear wheel arch repairs and partial-respray.
I've included pics of the car showing my JP Stainless zorst on a separte page.
It came from a racing Nova used in Sprints and Hill-climbing events.....he was replacing it with a side-exit zorst, so was selling this one cheap.
It was a bit gammy at first, but after a good clean, it came up mint as you'll see in the pics

| Thanks |
Thanks to my mate John for welding on the near-side arch for us, before I got my own kit......it was fun I know, last February in the freezing cold!
Thanks to my mate Elden for supplying loads of cheep car bits that came from him written-off Nova,
Thanks to my Dad for helping with the engine swap summer 2000
Thanks to my mate Andy for supplying the LCD dash, the GTE/GSi skirts and the Weber carb...all dirt cheep!
Thanks to Jeff Chambers for supplying the JP Zorst!
Thanks to Alex for supplying the Antibes rear seat fabric, which I'm using to re-trim my SR fort seats to match, as in the pics above,
Thanks to Mick at Thorncliffe Garage for doing the MOT's!
I think that's about it.....oh, apart from thanking the lads at Larkspeed Rotherham for supplying a few bits over the last few years, as well as Cornnesour (before the Sheffield branch closed!).
I suppose Halford's should get a mention too, and Charlie Browns....sorry to Charlie Browns, 'cos I used their entire stock of Carmine Red paint...lol!
And of course, many thanks go to all the Peeps on the forums on Novaload.net for all their help with loads of questions I've had for 'em to help me with ;)

| Future Plans |
NEW
Well, all my future plans have now changed since I've now got my new GTE!
In fact....the Antibes is no longer mine but plans I did have (had I kept it) included fitting a 1600SV engine from a MKIII Cav or later Astra running on carb(s), or I may have gone for a GTE engine including the injection system (good basis should I have decided to fit a 2.0 in the future); finish body work....rest of paint basically such as bonnet and tailgate; re-trim the front sports seats properly, with the Antibes fabric I had; get the newer version of my sunroof from a Daewoo (it's the same one basically as fitted in the early Nexia, but the Nexia one opens wider and is electric!); different alloys.....just to have a change from the Cav ones; and lodas of other bits and bobs I could think of....but, they're never going to happen now....not by me doing them anyway!

Older Pics of my Antibes....see how it's changed over the last 2 and a bit years....
|
|
As it was on the day I bought it! - note the very rusty near-side rear arch!
|
|
| |
As it was shortley after I got it, and later that year, with LXi alloys to replace the 3-spokes, and Corsa A GT front bumper etc.

Newer pics from earlier this year, and last last year, when fitted with MKII Cav side-skirts, front splitter and white indicators.
The engine pic is of the 1.3 shortly after first being fitted. Pic shows the old Pierburg 1B1 and old K&N.
