My Previous Nova - 1983 1.2L

This page gives details on my previous Nova, which was an A-reg 1.2L 3-door hatch.

The spec. below is the spec. of the car as it was prior to me stripping off the parts before I sold it
The pics further down the pics column show the car as it was before I sold it...note how I stipped everything off of it, and I sold it with the original 13" steels with 145-80-13s!!!


These following pics show the car with all the mods removed, and is as it was before I sold it last year.
In two if the pics, the car is shown with the SR/GTE/GSi alloys that were on my Antibes when I bought it...they were on for a short time before re-fitting the original 13" steels

Specification

Engine: Standard 1.2 Engine
Standard Pierburg 1B1 Carb.
Standard Air-filter and box
High Performance Silicon Leads
Castrol GTX Magnetex synthetic oil
Exhaust: Standard except for a Peco BB2 back-box.
This back-box was later transfered to my current Nova
Brakes: Standard front and rear
Transmission: Standard 4 speed box
Suspension: Totally standard 4X4 ride-height!
Wheels/Tyres: Cav 14" LXi-style alloys...they were actually the later type with different centre-caps, and came off of a late MKII Astra GTE Cabriolet.
175-65-14 tyres - Marongoni rotationals on the rear, and Pirelli rotationals on the front
Body Work: Two-tone painted body-work SR-style, using Hammer-finish Hamerite!
Standard side-rubbing strips retained
Early Corsa A GT lower front bumper (same as early Nova SR), from D reg (as now fitted to my current Nova, although now with a seperate-grill design)
Nova GTE rear bumper lower spoiler...or "flick"
Standard internal adjust mirrors
Colour coded Mirror housings and Door Handles.
Two-tone air-hones.
Original tailgate badges removed and replaced with custom-made aluminum-look stick on badges. Chrome "SL" badge made from parts from new-style chrome Vauxhall badges
Projector-Beam front Fog Lights fitted in front bumper (as now fitted on my current Nova)
Tailgate painted Anthrasite between rear-lights, GTE-style
Interior Original Cream seats, carpet and door-trims
Full door trims to cover paint, including rear 1/4 panels
SR front sports seats - old style Plaid type
GL 6-clock dash, including oil-pressure and battery voltage gauges. (Same as old SR clocks)
MKIII Cav Velour head-rests front and rear
Electric windows - MicroScan aftermarket 3-switch kit, with two door-mounted switches at driver's side, and one at passenger's side. Mounted dirrectly into the door cards. Illuminated switches (as transfered to my Antibes)
Cav LXi leather-covered steering wheel - same as MKII Astra GTE, but with the aditiona of leather
Aluminium/Carbon Fibre foot pedals (as now fitted in my Antibes)
Leather Gear knob (good old Halfords!)
Painted dash, as illustrated in interior pics
Ice Audioline manual-tune radio/cassette head-unit
Goodman's shelf speakers on front parcel shelf under dash
8" amplified Bass-tube in boot.
Didn't sound amazing.....no surprises there then!
Sold it with no ICE at all!
Security None apart from a steering wheel lock and hand brake/gear lever lock!
Thanks Thanks to my mate Elden for supplying the LXi alloys, GTE rear "flick", SR seats, GL 6-clock dash, leather steering wheel and a few other odds and sods.
Cheers to my mate John for helping to fit a few bits that freezing winters day, along with Elden at Elden's house.....in less than an hour, it gained the alloys, seats and steering wheel!
Future Plans Well...hum....none since I no longer own it!
